Nick is interested in the parallel political situation in his own country and the host one. Starting from this point the central theme of his project becomes the celebrating of the past. The research aims to indicate his belief in the combinations of dance practice and comedy he achieved with Damian Punch as well as in previous works with other dance artists. The focus of the residency is on the processes of creating dance\/comedy in a different environment from home, thus building all the elements for a new evening dance work \u2018Project Deep Well\u2019 &#8211; to be premiered in autumn at 3 different theatres in Ireland- in Birr, Cork and Belfast.<\/p>\n<p>With this project <strong>Nick Bryson<\/strong>, together with <strong>Damian Punch<\/strong>, <strong>Cristina Goletti<\/strong> and Cyprus artists will be striving for artistic excellence by crafting a future direction within their dance\/comedy genre, their own particular brand of dance being closely linked to universal comedy.<\/p>\n<p>The residency is hosted by Dance House Lemesos and will conclude with an open presentation on June 30.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nick Bryson<\/strong> is choreographer and since 2007 also Co-Director of Legitimate Bodies Dance Company in Birr. His artistic career includes international collaborations\u00a0 with artists like: Annika Luschin (Norway), Mathilde Monnier, Niamh Condron.\u00a0 (2003-2010), He toured his own choreographies and productions in Europe and America: \u2018The Goldilocks Zone\u2019, and \u2018Hanging In There\u2019 (with Damian Punch), \u2018Touching Distance\u2019, \u2018I\u2019m Dying for Some Kind of a Light Above my Head\u2019, \u2018Do you mean in General?\u2019 ,\u2018Aftermath\u2019 , \u2018In a Separate Development\u2019, \u2018Instances of Egoism\u2019, \u2018They Allowed him to Forget what He was Doing\u2019 \u2018Bog Feature\u2019 and a Dance Film (2008) -\u2018Monitor\u2019, \u2018Dance on The Box\u2019, RTE with Luke McManus and Sasha Pefect.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Irish choreographer Nick Bryson is in residence in Limassol this June, developing a project in collaboration with Cypriot artists.
