Irish “The Blue Boy” performance in Cluj-Napoca

Gabriela Tudor Foundation and Colectiv A Association in Cluj-Napoca have joined forces in presenting the urgent and vital Irish production “The Blue Boy” in this year Temps d’Images Festival in Cluj-Napoca. The show is presented as part of the performance exchange strand of the E-Motional Bodies & Cities on November 14, at the Hungarian Theatre in Cluj-Napoca. The show is also presented in Targu Mures on November 9.

Fusing original music and dance, multi-media and video, The Blue Boy deals with the experiences of men and women who were incarcerated as children in Catholic residential care institutions. This powerful piece combines a highly physical live performance alongside recorded testimony from former residents of institutions, and gives a fresh theatrical voice to recently revealed stories of child abuse in Ireland. Seven masked artists pose the question of guilt through dance.
