În această prezentare, 3 artiști stabiliți în Portugalia vor vorbi despre experiența lor în dezvoltarea, producția și prezentarea pieselor de dans sau afiliate domeniului dansului. Aceasta va genera un moment de reflecție asupra unor perspective personale diferite cu privire la procesul artistic și la modul de dezbatere în dans. Din aceste motive, formatul conferinței nu va fi unul convențional, ci va fi orientat mai degrabă spre o concepție mai largă și mai personală asupra împărtășirii istoriei și experienței. Eveniment organizat în conexiune cu Platforma de Reflecție E-Motional.

ZonaD Lounge cuprinde o serie de evenimente precum conferințe, proiecții de filme, ateliere și dezbateri de istoria și teoria dansului contemporan și performance art-ului susținute de artiști, teoreticieni și critici de dans din România și din străinătate. Avînd o frecvență regulată, acestea își propun să familiarizeze publicul din România cu practici artistice și estetici variate în domeniul dansului contemporan, încercînd să ofere un context pentru spectacolele care sînt produse sau/ și prezentate în România și să contribuie la dezvoltarea unor perspective și discursuri critice cu privire la acestea. Invităm deopotrivă publicul larg și profesioniștii din dans la aceste întîlniri în format lejer, de tip cafenea, în care să aflăm împreună lucruri noi și vechi și să discutăm într-un mod relaxat.

Joclécio Azevedo was born in Brazil in 1969. He lives and works in Porto since 1990. He has finished a Theatre degree at Balleteatro Professional School in Porto (1990-93). Some of his experiences as a performer (dance, performance and film) were creations made by José Caldas, João Paulo Seara Cardoso, Roberto Merino, José Wallenstein, Companhia Gioco Vita, Isabel Barros, Né Barros, Ana Figueira, Joana Providência, Pedro Carvalho, André Guedes, Simone Forti, Gary Stevens, Ronit Ziv, Catarina Campino, Saguenail, Jean-Marc Heim, Peter Bebjak/Juraj Korec, Tino Seghal and Isabelle Schad. From 1997 to 1999 he has directed and programmed “Perspectivas”, a Dance and Theatre Festival in Vila do Conde, Portugal. In 1999 he took part in two “dance constructions” by Simone Forti (The Huddle” and “Slant Board”), which were performed as part of the complementary program supporting the exhibition entitled Circa/68 at Serralves Museum. From 2001 he presented his work at different festivals, choreographic residences and dance platforms such as “Repérage – Reencontres Internationales de la Jeune Chorégraphie” in Lille (tooking also part at the Repérages’s choreographic residence in Tunisia), Porto 2001 – European Capital of Culture (being a co-creator and performer in a collaboration project), “Mudanças 2002 – Platform of Portuguese Contemporary Dance” in Porto, Festival Portugal at Treffpunkt Rotebuhlplatz in Stuttgart – 2002, AEROWAVES at “The Place” in London – 2003, CAPITALS (Acarte meetings – 2003) in Lisbon and Festival de La Bâtie in Genéve – 2004. Following his interest in research projects he’s been participating in choreographic residences such as MUGATXOAN (Arteleku/San Sebastián and Fundação de Serralves/Porto – 2002) and Colina 2003 (O espaço do tempo – Montemor-o-Novo). From 2003 he had collaborations with Swiss choreographer Jean-Marc Heim working as a performer in the piece “Va et Vient” (Prize of the Swiss critic of dance and choreography in 2004), as a performer and dramatist in “Creatura” (2005), and as a dramatist in “Flagrant Delhi” (2008) and “Superflux” (2011). In 2004 he staged a new work with students from Laban Centre in London as part of Moviment04, a Festival of Portuguese choreography produced by The Hub/Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. He was artistic director of NEC – Nucleus for Choreographic Experimentation in Porto, between 2006 and 2011. “In Spite of the Evidence” (2003), “the melted mirror” (2004), “In a Short way” (2004), “Inventory” (2007), “Open Scores” (2009), “A commissioned piece” (2009), “Alexandria (Fragmentos) (2011), “Soiled” (2012), “Porto 2017” (2012) and “Unfished” (2013) are some of his works in choreography and performance. From 2012 he has been a Resident Artist at Circular Cultural Association in Vila do Conde, Portugal.

Rogério Nuno Costa is a Portuguese performance artist based in Lisbon and Porto. His work deals with the major concept of documentation when applied to ephemeral performative actions. His performances, videos, conferences, show cases, installations and texts explore the fields of theatre, movement, visual arts, literature, philosophy and anthropology, interconnecting public and private contexts, autobiographical discourses and informational/communicational strategies: social networking, advertising, conceptual propaganda, guerrilla art, etc. He’s also an researcher, an art’s teacher, a curator, a documentary maker, a writer and a “conceptual” chef. Major in Communication and Journalism, has studied Contemporary Art History and Contemporary Culture and New Technologies. Frequently collaborates with several performance and visual artists in Portugal and abroad. His work has already been shown in Portugal, France, England, Scotland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Croatia, Austria, Serbia and Finland, with the support of some of the most prestigious art festivals and cultural institutions. Usually writes for cultural publications and is invited to participate in conferences and talks, mainly about documentation practices. Has been lecturing and directing workshops and master classes about his work in many academic institutions, such as Escola Superior de Artes e Design (Caldas da Rainha, Portugal), Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema (Lisbon, Portugal), Faculdade de Belas Artes (Lisbon, Portugal), Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (Arnhem, The Netherlands), Faculdade de Letras (Coimbra, Portugal). He’s the author of the infamous art manifesto “Dogma 2005” and the catalogues “Documentation Project” (about his own performance art work “Vou A Tua Casa”) and “Big Curator Is Watching You!” (about his curatorial program “The Spectator’ s Opportunity”). Apart from his own performance work, he is usually invited to write and direct theatre and dance performances for other artists and companies. Recently he has been working in the field of Culinary Arts under the alias Chef Rø, developing a project called “Vou À Tua Mesa” (I go to your table), mixing Gastronomy with Art, Science, Technology and Philosophy, within the frame of foodjaying and underground dining events as well as conceptual radio and TV shows. Food writer in the Portuguese magazines Viral Agenda and Intermagazine. He is the Portuguese ambassador of the international food event Restaurant Day. He is now working in the catalogue for the dance festival MAP/P 2013 (produced by Produtora de Risco), to be published in September 2014. He is also teaching the Major in Theatre at Universidade do Minho, in Guimarães (Portugal). Joana von Mayer Trindade – Choreographer, Performer and Teacher works in between Berlin and Porto since 2011. In 2013 she got a Master degree in Dance, MA SODA (Solo/Dance/ Authorship) at the University for the Arts in Berlin-UDK / HZT and received a scholarship to attend her studies by GDA- Gestão dos Direitos dos Artistas. She attended the Course of Contemporary Dance Performers (1998/1999) run by Forum Dança as well as “Essais” (2006) at the “Centre National de la Danse Contenporaine d’Angers direction d’Emmanuelle Huynh (France)”, she received a scholarship to attend “Essais” by Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. She works as a creator, performer and teacher in the fields of performance art, dance and yoga. She has a degree in Psychology, University of Oporto. Together with Hugo Calhim Cristovão, she is a member and co-founder of NuIsIs ZoBoP. Her two latest solos “She Will Not Live” and “Veleda”, created together with Hugo Calhim Cristovão were presented in several festivals and cultural centers in Portugal such as Serralves Museum and Festival Materiais Diversos. She has worked with several choreographers and was a scholarship holder at the National Culture Centre in Japan (2002), where she researched and practiced Butoh with Min Tanaka at the Body Weather Farm, and Soto Zen Buddhism at the Zazen Dojo Antai-Ji. In 2008 she traveled during six months in India where she finished “Certificate Course in Yoga” in the Benares Hindu University in Varanasi and “Intensive Yoga Teachers Training Course” on Patanjali Yoga Foundation in Rishikesh. As a performer she worked in collaboration with artists such as Antonio Carrallo, Filipe Viegas, Sonia Baptista, Deborah Hay, Eric Didry, Emmanuelle Huynh, Ana Clara Guerra Marques, Paulo Henrique, Olga Roriz, Ana Trincão and Danya Hammoud. In 2011 she presents the solo “Conquest” , choreography by Deborah Hay with choreographic adpatation and interpretation by Joana von Mayer Trindade, Project inserted in the context of the programme “Improvisações/Colaborações”, promoted by Fundação de Serralves, Porto, in May 2011. In December 2012 she premieres the solo “ZOS (She will Not Live)” by Joana von Mayer and Hugo Calhim Cristovão, Berlin, Uferstudios/HZT (Inter-University Centre for Dance Berlin), PT13 (Portuguese Plataform for Performing arts art, Montemor-o-Novo, May 2013) and a lecture concerning the artistic process of this solo, in the context of “VISITING ARTISTIS” Program, MAP/P July 2013, Porto. In 2012 she accompanied as an artist the development of the exhibition: “Moments. A History of Performance in 10 Acts which lasted 8 weeks from March 8 to April 29, April 2012 at ZKM, Museum für Neue Kunst in Karlsruhe/Germany, in the context of this exhibition she published the following article: “Truthful Images” for the internet magazine CORPUS for dance, choreography and performance: <http://www.corpusweb.net/truthful-images-2.htm> and a short film entitled: “Shaman Moments”. The solo VELEDA has recently been selected for the 2º Platform of national emergent creators EDN&modul-dance 2014.
